Storrs Center combines the best of a deeply traditional New England town with the energy and vibrancy of a university community. Working with the Mansfield Downtown Partnership and Education Realty Trust (now Greystar), master developer LeylandAlliance and its team members created a new downtown and a great place to live, work, play, and learn at the cross roads of the Town of Mansfield and the University of Connecticut. Storrs Center features a unique mix of shops, restaurants, offices, and housing, comprising over 500,000 square feet of new development. Among its first tenants were UConn Health, Geno’s Grill, UConn Bookstore, Ballard Puppetry Museum, CVS, and Price Chopper. At the heart of Storrs Center is Betsy Paterson Square, located opposite of the University's Fine Arts Building. The Square quickly became the region’s go-to gathering place for great food, arts, and cultural activities. The result is a place where the Town of Mansfield and the University of Connecticut come together to welcome community, residents, students, and visitors.

Main Street Homes, a new neighborhood of townhomes and condominiums at Storrs Center, was completed in the summer of 2017.  This new pedestrian-oriented community sold out quickly, which is a testament to the desirability of mixed-use downtown living.
