With its spectacular views of the Hudson River, architectural heritage of more than 4,000 historic buildings, easy access to New York City’s MetroNorth commuter trains, and proximity to Stewart International Airport, the City of Newburgh is an exciting and convenient place to live. LeylandAlliance, in partnership with the City of Newburgh, coordinated an enormous planning effort to help redevelop an area of the city that was torn down in the 1960’s. Integrated into Newburgh’s urban fabric, this new neighborhood designed by Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company would bring shopping, office space, a range of new homes, and cultural venues for the entire area to enjoy.

We are also proud to have worked with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh on the revitalization of East Parmenter Street. Located just one block from the historic Headquarters of General George Washington, this unique neighborhood replaced blighted buildings boarded up since 1989. Twenty-four new, Energy Star rated, affordable homes were constructed for hard-working, local families in need. Complete with pocket parks, and a pedestrian-friendly design, this neighborhood is now a safe home to nearly 100 residents who will support surrounding local businesses.
